Discover Diamond Peak Ski Resort
One of the best perks of living in Incline Village is the ease of access to its community-owned ski resort, called Diamond Peak. Away from the crowds of Lake Tahoe’s more popular ski areas like Palisades Tahoe, Northstar or Mount Rose, Diamond Peak is a quaint ski resort with stunning views of Lake Tahoe.
History of Incline Village
In 1960, the Olympics put Lake Tahoe on the map as a world-class ski area. Art Wood and Harold Tiller envisioned creating a ski and golf community that might become the ‘Pebble Beach of the Sierra.’ This development became Incline Village, and its recreational master plan included a ski resort at its center.
Originally called Ski Incline, during the 1980’s the resort went through an expansion to capitalize on the stunning views at higher elevations. They added the mile-long Crystal Quad chairlift to reach the top and doubled the resort’s skiable acreage with more advanced terrain.
Diamond Peak Today
Today, Diamond Peak offers miles of uncrowded runs with easy access from the parking lot to the slopes. It also has a dedicated learning area for the Child Ski & Ride Center and great Ski & Ride Center lesson packages for older skiers/riders. Their affordable lift ticket and season pass prices present an incredible value.
Skiers and riders can enjoy 655 acres spread out over 1,840 vertical feet of incredible terrain. The resort offers 28 developed trails, 13 named gladed tree skiing/riding areas, three terrain parks, and beautiful views of Lake Tahoe from almost every run on the mountain.
